Consumer Complaint: My name was put on the student loan application of my adult son without permission. I have notified Navient of this for years, and supplied affadavits of my signature, etc., written documents noting identify fraud. However, they continue to harass me continuously sending threatening letters, calling my office of employment and leaving messages on a non-secure phone line about my delinquency and threats of dire consequences. Navient has passed on information about the debt to people who answer the phone at my employment. This is in violation of the FTC Fair and Equitable Credit Act. Navient calls repeatedly after many instructions not to call me at work or at all. This has been going on for 6 years. Navient apparently is now notorious about their illegal tactics used with many consumers and I understand under investigation by the FTC.
