Consumer Complaint: I have been getting calls from this company – diversified adjustment services inc for quite a while. Potentially over a year, but I can not confirm if they were the original company. So I will stick with the current actions. I began receiving calls from local XXXX number ‘s that would hang up when I answered them. Sometimes the caller would call back and sometimes they would n’t. Eventually, I learned that this company, Diversified adjustment was trying to contact me on a debt they said I owed to XXXX. Over the course of several weeks and 4-6 calls per day, I attempted on at least 3 occasions to request a letter showing who they were and what they said I owed because I was n’t going to just pay some outrageous amount to some random phone caller. This request was denied repeatedly until last week when one agent finally agreed to send me a letter. I received the letter today and it implies that I have agreed to some payment arrangement and they expect my payment of XXXX $ on XX/XX/18. At no point did I agree to anything, Since they record calls I know they have this recorded, I also have the call recorded as well so they ca n’t weasel out. As this is the first time I have seen a written request of this debt, I believe they are trying to remove my ability to contest the debt. At this point, no other action has been taken by the company other than the continued calls from a multitude of # ‘s. They did inform me on one call that they have over 150 lines that they call from. I was informed by the XXXX agents that I had already received a letter and would not get another one. I find this tactic to be extremely shady and I will be contacting them requesting formal evidence of the debt so that I may review and confirm if it is actual debt, but I am taking this proactive approach because that is what you have to do with shady companies like this.
