Consumer Complaint: I started on IBR 3 or so years ago with a payment of XXXX a month. Once on that I was all good and on time. I kept that payment for about two years. After that even though my income has NOT doubled they doubled my payment. I have struggled at XXXX a month. I have asked for help on the phone and nothing. This last time when I submitted for renewal of my IBR I sent written request to please not increase it my income had not changed and they raised it to XXXX. I am a single mom. I can not afford that payment. I dont like being late but they dont want to help and have said they wont or cant. I get maybe a 3 percent raise a year and I dont see how raising my payment so much even reflects my ability to pay. Please help me. I dont want to default and I am making payments but still losing ground because they wont help. I know they have been in trouble as have the college I went to. I was never told how much this would impact me or how devestafing it would be. I guess I made a big mistake going to collage.
