Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed

Consumer Complaint: The entity claims I owe them money for a debt I do not owe and had never paid on but on my credit report they have been throughout the course of ten years making it appear to where I started and setup a payment with them and have been making payments to them which I have not ever once. I have not even contacted them throughout the span of ten years. Everyday I get harassed by phone calls all from different yet local numbers ( too many to count ) to disguise the true nature of who was really calling my house. They will get on the phone trying to bait me by impersonating someone other than a debt collector. They sent a fear factor letter in the mail threatening to take funds out of my check. Since I have known them to be irrelevant I have to step up and now and take action towards them and ask for proof of any transactions they claim I have made to them so they can be made fools of I can be left alone. I have stressed and endured harassment long enough over this.
