Consumer Complaint: I received a letter stating a medical bill I was unaware of was sent to collections. Immediately, I called to resolve the matter and make payment arrangements. They declined what I could afford and told me either {$5000.00} down and {$5000.00} the following month or 3 consecutive payments of {$3000.00}. The told me this was the only way they could accept my payment and I told them I would see what I could try to figure out.

After confirming with my options that those just are not realistic arrangements I called them to atleast make a payment and see what I could continue to afford. They told me they could not accept my payment because it wasn’t enough and that they are now going to put it against my credit. I tried multiple times to have them take my payment and they declined. I asked them if I were to go online and make a payment, since they would not accept it, if they would send me a notification with my new balance owed before reporting to my credit and she said they don’t do such a thing.
The fact that she declined my payment and refused to come up with a realistic arrangement for monthly payments is completely unfair.
