Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX I cancelled my Auto Insurance Policy with XXXX and obtained XXXX as my auto insurance holder. XXXX was notified of the cancellation and indicated no charges were pending. In XX/XX/XXXX, I became aware a collection was placed in my name through the credit reporting agencies indicating a balance of {$380.00} was owed to XXXX. The collection agency is XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) based in XXXX, MA. I contacted XXXX on XXXX XX/XX/XXXX and spoke with a representative who indicated if I provided proof of coverage prior to XX/XX/XXXX, the charge would be removed. XXXX provided a XXXX Page indicating auto coverage began in XX/XX/XXXX. This information was passed to XXXX who replied to me via e-mail on XXXX XX/XX/XXXX that the charge was dismissed and the collection would be removed. I noted the collection was removed in XX/XX/XXXX only to return XXXX months later. I became aware the collection had returned after seeking financing on a purchase. I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX on XXXX XX/XX/XXXX and provided copies of the e-mail correspondence with XXXX dated on XXXX and XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. Their representative indicated the information was insufficient and requested the XXXX XXXX Page. I submitted the XXXX XXXX Page on XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. It is apparent through conversation with the XXXX representatives they did not regularly check the status of this collection to see a zero balance reported by XXXX. I initiated a conference call with XXXX and XXXX on XXXX XX/XX/XXXX to resolve the issue, but the XXXX representative and the Supervisor of that representative were resistant to make changes to the account even though overwhelming evidence was directly at their fingertips and the XXXX representative stated no pending balance was due to XXXX.
