Consumer Complaint: A company calling themselves XXXX XXXX XXXX contacted me about a very old credit card debt, long gone from my credit report, perhaps 9-12 years old. They said I was going to get served for court and face charges if I didn’t pay. As it turns out they are trying to collect on the very same old debt another company just got me to pay off. I believe I have been scammed. Now this second company keeps calling my cellphone, my work phone and my mothers phone. They know my address and other information as well. A man who is calling himself ” Investigator XXXX ” keeps calling me at work. Initially I did speak with him and he was telling me I Need to reverse the charges with the other company and submit payment to them instead. The first company, the one I did pay is calling themselves XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I will be filing a report about them as well because they too appear to be using illegal tactics.
I am going to see an attorney regarding both companies next week
