Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 I received a alert to my experian report that XXXX XXXX flagged my report in a collection pursuit. I immediately sent out a debt verification letter being I had no received anything prior to this. I had also sent a verification request to experian. I never received a call nor letter from the debt reporting agency but experian wrote stating it was verified without showing HOW it was verified. Upon reading the law, I learned FCRA 809 ( a ) requires the debt collector to CONTACT the consumer to rectify the situation prior to hitting credit reports. They are required by law to provide the consumer 30 days to dispute or request verification. This company NEVER did this. The first I knew about this debt was by my credit report alert. Since this date, they had alerted my report for new collection XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX, 5 times they reported this debt to experian alerting me of a new collection. This is the same collection being reported FIVE times in a month! Furthermore I have XXXX XXXX ( who they claim I owe ) now in MY NAME and never had any issues in obtaining it. I only owe current bill of {$86.00}. I have been in my same home for 6 years now. This company refuses to answer my letter verifying the debt, they continue to report over and over to the credit report which is hurting my scores and experian refuses to answer to how this was verified. Being such, by law, this is to be removed from my report.
