  • Debt Guru
has been great. I took a job making less money and began leaning on my credit
cards too heavily. I have great credit so having 16k in credit card debt
bothered me to no end. I called them up and spoke with a guy named James.
Because of the amount of debt, my minimum payment had to be 344.00. I ended up
bring it up to 444.00 to clear the debt a bit faster. They take 40.00 a month
and the rest is put towards the debt. I don’t know how that compares to other
debt relief places, but one reason I like them is that they have been really
nice. I was in a tight spot and they allowed me to reduce the monthly back to
344.00 without issue, and held off removing the money from my account one month
because it would have caused me to over draw. Not once did they make me feel bad
about the position I was in. They remove the money directly from my account on
a monthly basis, and send me a report breaking down what the money went to. I
had 16K and two years later I have paid off over 10k. All of my credit card
interest rates were brought down to 2%, but all of the accounts had to be
closed as part of the agreement. If you can take hold of your debt on your own
great, but if you are like me and need the accountability of having someone
pull the money directly from your account, and decide what card gets paid down
first…Then Debt guru might be for you.
