Like others, I’ve found Debt-Free America to be a scam and a nuisance. After “playing with them” a couple of times, they obviously flagged my record but have NOT stopped calling me, sometimes up to 7 times a day, often about exactly 15 minutes apart. Each call displays from a different bogus CALLER ID and random telephone number, often with names like “Jack Jackson Towing”, “Auto Club” or individual people’s names. Their initial response is from that same Linda Davis recording and artificial intelligence interface. If you verbally reply to questions as if you’re interested, you get transferred to her “senior management” agent– a live person. I know they’ve flagged the record because if I ask anything legitimate (or sometimes even before I can respond) the person hangs up, often first calling me an assh*le or other choice language. …So, if they’ve flagged my number as a non-valid contact, WHY DO THEY KEEP CALLING BACK MULTIPLE TIMES IN A DAY other than to be an intentional annoyance??
I’ve got a call blocker and I add each new call-ID number to the reject list that thereafter simply hangs up on them without even ringing my phone. If the company was legit, they wouldn’t need bogus CALLER IDs and if they were reputable then they wouldn’t waste energy on intentionally calling back just to be an annoyance.
when you get a call from them, dont give up your information when they ask for credit card numbers or expire date, just play along and ask them questions instead like whats the web site info, and you need their call back number because you left your card and wallet in your car and car is in parking garage 20 stories down from your floor. see if they give you that info. keep stalling them and stringing along, put them on hold, etc. once you got them frustrated enough, tell them to [xxxxxxxxxx] ass then mouth, then hang up.
Dept free America
Is a total scam has been going on many years and allowed by our government to continue there operations this is a terrorist
This is all you need to know: After them calling me 2 or 3 times my number must have popped up with a note saying I played with them. The caller immediately said to me before I could get a word out, “Is your mother sucking c_cks today?” Yep, anyplace that lets an employee talk like that is a 100% scam.
Debt Free America is a scam and, as usual, The FCC could care less.
All they do is sit around collecting taxpayer’s money and laugh at us for being so stupid.
I am going into volunteer firefighting and have a life of my own, I need to answer calls because I never know who it is. This company keeps calling using different numbers and whenever I even hint at asking to be removed, they hang up on me. I’m going to lose it one of these days
As a firefighter myself, I can sympathize. The easiest solution is to do what I have done. Get a second phone and only give the FD that number.
Received a call from 1-518-216-3724 from two individuals purporting to be representatives of Debt Free America and looking to expunge my total credit card debt incurred due to the Covid pandemic. They couldn’t tell me what, if anything, I owed, but were eager to help. Naturally, I suspected a scam and was uncooperative.
Interesting. So they were using covid as a sales pitch?
I get this and the interest rate reduction scam at least once a day. Today the Discover reduction guy passed me to the debt free joker. I gave him a phony credit card that had the correct check digit and wasted over 10 minutes of guy #2’s time. I asked him where he was calling from and when he answered Atlanta I asked him if he saw the (imaginary) Yankees/Braves game. When he came back on the line after not being able to get my credit card information he asked where I got the card. I told him in Atlanta where I watched the Brave play the Yankees. He tried to insult me but I didn’t let him get a word in and the scamming SOB finally hung up.
I just checked my caller box. The call had a phone caller ID of 518-279-2300 which is the same area code and exchange as my phone. My box says I wasted over 20 minutes of their precious time.
Good catch.
Why the fuck do you fucking assholes Sara Thomas of dept free america call me 3 or4 times a day with somebody else’s phone number I’m on the national do not fucking call list but you mother fuckers still bug me everyday please do me a favor tell me where you are located so I can go punch your fucking lights out you fucking s cam artist shitbags get a fucking job stop trying to fuck everybody out of there hard earned money
YOU ARE EXACTLY CORRECT, THESE DIRT BAGS ARE TOO STUPID TO HOLD DOWN A REAL JOB. THEY HAVE NO MORAL COMPASS, THEY EAT SHIT AND SUCK ASS
Don’t hold back Tell us how you feel.
Just a tip, I have learned that they are googling or researching you while on the phone with them. Your phone number and any info. they can get is being plugged into their search websites. So, don’t be surprised if they have your real name and even your address. Just don’t give them any real or critical information about yourself.
I’m retired with time on my hands. When I get a call from these people, I keep them on the phone as long as I can. I pretend to look for credit card info. or holler at my pretend wife for losing things. When I tire of the game, I tell them that I kept them on the phone so they would not have time to scam other people. That really seems to make them mad and they usually start swearing at me. I laugh and laugh and laugh.
Constant calls from Linda Davis (wasn’t she an actress years ago?) from Debt Free America spoofing other people’s phone numbers. Annoying to say the least.
Debt Free America scam…these people actually think they are going to be able to LIE TO ME, then get me to PAY THEM MONEY? really?
I get on average 4 calls a day from these Assholes just hearing that Linda Davis or Credit America makes my blood pressure rise. So much Fraud in this company the way they Spoof numbers
Call multiple times daily, I’ve heard all of this before..LOL total scammers…found this number for them but of course there was no answer 4807319600 and an Address
2153 East Cedar Street Suite 3
Tempe, AZ 85281-7411
🙂
Who the H would deal with a company that spoofs their number.
If you know they are from India and call them “untouchables” they will lose their minds. That’s the equivalent of calling them a homeless bum, lowest human status in their country. I saw it on YouTube and it was quite effective. BAHAHAHA
For 2 days in a row, “LINDA DAVIS” from “DEBT FREE AMERICA” has called…USING the CALLER ID NAMES of LOCAL BUSINESSES in my AREA and their actual phone numbers!!!
HOW IS THIS SUPPOSED TO BE A LEGITIMATE REPRESENTATION OF a BUSINESS!!!??????
I am reporting the scam to the FCC and FTC.
I keep getting a call from these people. I have found out that I do not qualify, but they keep calling after I have asked them not nicely. Now they get an earful of hate.
That’s not cool of them.
Where in the heck is the FCC (?) that regulates these “scammer calls. I tell Jake, Linda, Jeff (?) your talking to a dead person and hang up!.
FCC has no enforcement in India or Pakistan
I have received several calls from them – they are fun. Butch, John Jones and the latest just now – Sarah Marshall (the college?) all have heavy Indian accents. I enjoy asking them where in India they are calling from – gives them brain freeze. When they called yesterday, I quickly googled for and found a porn website on my PC and placed the phone up to the speaker – “Mike” got an earful of moaning ang groaning. Funny thing is, he stayed on the line so long that I had to hang up on him.
LOL.
I just spent 20 minutes on the phone with “Jonathan” from Debt Free America. After refusing, several times, to give him my full credit card number over the phone, I asked him to explain to me how his company makes any money by providing this “free” service. He explained that it is free to the consumer but not free to the credit card company.
They find out the amount of equity left on your credit card and run your balance up to the limit. Then they allegedly “eliminate” all of the debt on that credit card and pocket the credit card company’s money. He asked me why I would not want to do this with someone else’s money. I told him it was fraud and would ruin my good credit and his scam would ruin me financially, that’s why. He told me repeatedly that I was not worth his time and asked why I was wasting it but he could not help but stay on the line. Eventually, he called me the “B” word and managed to use the “F” word, which I called him out on. Still he stayed on the call explaining that he keeps that word in his arsenal and tries all day to not use it except for really stupid “B”s like me.
We argued some more until his “supervisor” broke into the call and instructed him to end the call. I really hope I ruined his day and his night’s sleep.
I would like to try “Joyce’s” tack next time but making him curse me out and waste time was a little too satisfying.
Sounds like you got the better of him and realized the description of services mad absolutely no sense.
Good job!
Received a call from “Linda Davis” of Debt Free America in Atlanta, GA, although the caller ID displayed a local number. An obvious scam, but I played dumb. “Linda” transferred me to her supervisor, “Jonathan”. When he couldn’t answer my questions, I was transferred to the floor supervisor. He referred me to the web site and said he would call me back after I researched the company. We’ll see! What is disturbing is that they knew not only my phone #, but also my name and address.
Yes, How many times a day does Linda “Fucking” Davis have to call???
LOL
I think the accent is usually south Asian (Indian or Pakistan). A fifth of the world’s population and they speak English thanks to being a former British colony.
I’ve gotten dozens (hundreds?) of calls from them. I have several expired/cancelled credit cards whose numbers I give them. It usually takes several minutes for them to realize the number is no good so then I give them another bogus number. This keeps them busy for many minutes while I continue with what I was doing before they called. Once they figure out what I’m doing I sometimes get cursed at. It’s very satisfying.
on the phone now with ‘Kevin Parker’ with an mid eastern accent. Says he changed his name as a child. Keeps insisting this is not a scam. I am asking all sorts of stupid questions. I’ve kept him on the phone for over minutes as of right now.
I get multiple calls from a local number. I want my name & number removed!
Got my 1st call today. Obviously a scam. Requested my Discover #. I do not have that c.c. . Just told him I do. Asked for an email explaining program. No, that is not available. Only their lawyer can handle debt. I had offered my own. I never gave my full name, nor did he ask. His accent was difficult to understand, but command of English was good. I suspect he was from an African Nation. I hope our elderly have become aware of scams. No one asks to credit card number to pay off your card as a service to you.
I got this call 4 times in one day. I have a file with fake numbers, names, etc. I also have a list of chores I can do while I waste their time. I just kept one on the phone for 50 minutes checking all my fake numbers that I have to repeat and correct several times. He finally came back after putting me on hold 4 times to check my Credit Card balance and told me I was wasting his time. Absolute genius. I folded clothes, paid bills, and started dinner with him on speaker phone. Covid19 boredom has made me creative. I almost look forward to their calls. One of them was nice so I told him he should get a job not scamming people. He thanked me.

I received a call from a local number with my area code but unidentified on the caller ID. Call began with a robo call then transferred to a actual person. A lot of noise in the background, sounding like a call center. First they asked for my name, I replied with where are you calling from again…they replied with debt free America. I asked if I could have their website information before I give them any of my information so that I could do a little research…I was transferred to a supervisor who then tried to explain to me the benefits of enrolling in this program to erase my debt since I have a high credit score. I then repeated that I wanted to research the company before I give my information. The supervisor kindly said that I can look up Debt free America on the internet if I have any concerns and hung up the phone. The IRS.gov website does not have any information regarding this program.
Sounds like you make some smart choices and decisions in asking them for details.
I have been receiving these calls too. When I ask the lady ,”Who is Debt Free America” , She simply replied over and over again, ” this is Debt Free America”. She told me the same story she is telling everyone else.. I had to hang up on her.
LOL. Not the best-trained telemarketer.
They blatantly lied to me, said that due to COVID-19, the US Govt is allowing everyone to completely wipe out their credit card debt. I knew it was a scam right from the start. Call came from a phone number in my local area, the obvious lie – if the US Govt authorized everyone to wipe out their credit card debt, we wouldn’t need the services of a company like this, and when I asked them if I could do it online, they replied, “of course”, didn’t offer me the website url, and hung up on me. Not only are they scammers, they are very unprofessional about it as well.
Debt Free America is Total SCAM. Answered a call from “Linda” (a computer robo responder) and got transferred to “Jake” — who was obviously in a cube farm, among dozens of other scammers cheating people in the background.
If I’m in the mood and have time, I like to keep these thieves on the line as long as possible. If I do so, it saves someone else who doesn’t know better. And I might have just saved someone else from being a victim of credit card fraud.
To summarize: Debt Free America is a scam.
Linda from Debt Free America called from my same zip code and exchange. “FCA is eliminating consumer debt” (false). Scammy people taking advantage of people who have debt.
Call came through as a “scam likely”
Somehow I did answer and was polite to them anyhow. When I asked details about their company he was very sketchy and would not give me details – imagine that.
Eventually he did hang up on me as I persisted to know about their company.

It’s not only a scam, but they are making calls with my phone #. Had a person call me and said I had just called them because it was my number that showed up on their caller ID. Never made the call. He said the caller supposedly identified herself as Diana from Debt Free America. Seeking legal advice and reported it to local law enforcement.
SCAM! If someone calls and says, Hi I’m from Debt Free America, do you have a minute?” HANG UP! All I asked is what is this regarding, and the woman hung up on me. So, there you have it. When I tried to call her back because I didn’t appreciate being treated that way. It went directly to voicemail Diana S.
I don’t even have a credit card but they tell me I can get my interest rate lowered. When I talk to some clown that can’t speak English to try and get my phone number taken off the list all they do is hang up on me……….WHAT A SCAM
Did the call sound anything like this one? https://getoutofdebt.org/110427/scam-credit-card-debt-reduction-call-sounds-like
credit 911 cost me approx. $9000 to settle a debt of about $7000 so you tell me , scam or not. now I am fighting with IRS
over taxes on the $7000 debt forgiveness.
