American Fair Credit Council (AFCC) Rumored to be the New Name for The Association of Settlement Companies (TASC)

I received a tip today that earlier it was announced at The Association of Settlement Companies (TASC) conference in Las Vegas that TASC is going to be changing their name to American Fair Credit Council (AFCC).

Let the rebranding begin.

Sincerely,

  1. This place has been like a knife-fight lately. I would attribute that in large part to timing. Here we are just over six months into the TSR-era. That means that the major upfront portion of fees for the pre-TSR clients is about over. For the companies that made the switch their revenue has already been dropping every day since 10/27. The May forecast shows a cliff where revenue will inevitably plummet fast. But the real bad news for them is that they still must provide the service that they have already been paid for. (see.. recipe for disaster)

I’m sure cuts have been deep throughout the industry over the past thirty days as DSCs either weather the storm, or fold up shop and invite clients and staff to kiss their ass. People are pissed off because nobody’s job in the debt relief space is safe right now and they’re either already on the sidelines, or living in fear of it everyday. I guess I can understand why some people come on here to bitch. Unfortunately most only end up making themselves look stupid.

  2. BTW, this comment was posted from the same IP address as supporters of Everest Debt Solutions on this post. God forbid you don’t give sound and reasonable advice to any Everest Debt Solutions client or you may get attacked as well.

  3. New name .. same self-serving agenda I’m sure. Man, things must be getting bad for them to abandon years of building their brand. It’s keeping with the status quo for the majority of the DS industry, it doesn’t matter how bad you fail or how many people you mislead, all you need to do is rename yourself and voila, you’re credible again.

  4. hmm, sounds like TASC is embarrassed and trying to distance themselves from past actions. At least their original name was accurate, this new name is deceptive as all get out. What a farce.
