State You Live in: Ohio

Race/Ethnicity: White

Age Range: 36-50

Total Amount of Fee Paid: $2,500

Company Name: Consumer Legal Services

Company Address:

Company Telephone Number: 866-757-9907

Website of Company: ConsumerLegalServices.org

Consumer Statement:

I was scammed by the CLS (Consumer Lending Service) Group out of $2500. I was solicited to refinance my house and roll in my home equity loan to make one loan at 2.99% Well, I did all the paperwork and sent it back and made sure I paid the $2500.

I am yet to hear from them about a closing date, a time to fill out paperwork, or any other business matter. Once they cashed the check that was it. They were don with me. I get no return calls, hung up on, and no return emails.

David Nimen at CLS Group.

Consumer Action Taken:

I have tried to resolve this by sending them emails about the status of my account, calling every few days to see whats going one, and getting answers to my questions as to loan pay offs, closing dates, escrow, and any other pertinent information that will help the account move forward.

  1. The CLS Group (David Niman)-Equity Partners) sent me all the paper work to get a re-fi. with a 2.99%-30 yr. fixed also date of 1st mortgage payment and amount, all looked legit. I mailed paperwork and a check for $1500.00 to him and after my check cleared the bank I have never been able to contact him by phone,e-mail,fax ,even certified letter was returned to me.These are real SCAMARTISTS,I just want my money back. I would like to talk with anyone that has had dealings with these people.

  4. I have sent two certified letters to the CLS group demanding my money back. I have yet to receive a response. I am now talking to attorneys and taking them to court. They have clearly violated SB 94 and are operating without a license. I will pursue them until they are closed down!!!

    • Well count me in. I was told I could possibly have a refund by the end of the month. I will wait and see. I had an attorney send a strong letter. I will do what ever it takes to get my money back

      • Awesome for you. Let me know what happens… I submitted my claim at the court house today. We’ll see what happens. I can’t believe they’re still operating. I have filed complaints with the Department of Real Estate, and BB. I plan to file fraud charges at the Police Department tomorrow, that’s what they recommended at the court house today. Also, Department of Real Estate said there were only two complaints against The CLS Group. More people need to come forward and file complaints with the Department of Real Estate because then the FBI will get involved. Please file a complaint if you haven’t already done it.
