At the end of March I recieved a call from Consumer Advocates. They wanted to qualify me for the HAMP modifacation goverment program. I was told that if I was paying more than 31% of my income for mortgage payments including taxes I qualify. I was told that since my bank took bailout money they had to do it. We entered into a verbal agreement (no contract) that I would be given to Results for Homeowners so the documents could be made for me to submit to my mortgage company. I was told by Gwen that it was 100% guaranteed. If I was not qualified my money would be refunded. If I was wrongly denied they would sue the bank and resubmit and they would have to do it. The money was transacted over the phone to1st Choice Document Preparation. When I was denied on July 3rd Icontacted Gwen after many calls and messages. She was to call me back with the next step. I was ignored after that point. No new documents were send to me or a refund.
Consumer Action Taken:
I wrote a letter giving them 2 weeks to respond or I would report them to The Better Business Bureau and the Attoney General and sent it certified return receipt. Received singed return receipt but no response.
