Capital Financial Group / Scott Rister – Consumer Complaint – 10-25-2010

Consumer Statement:

I enrolled in this debt settlement company in March of 2010. I signed a contract with a payment plan saying that I would be out of debt in aproximately 3 yrs. In March of 2012 I get a notice that I am being sued. I attempt to make contact with this company by email and phone calls. I never got a response. So I continue to pay them my monthly fee of $29. In August I get a notice that I must appear in court to settle my with my creditor. I decided to delay in making my monthly payment and hope they will contact me and they did. I send them a response to their email asking why they never responded to my attempts to contact them. They said they never recieved my emails or voicemails. Now they seem really suspicious to me. So on September 10th I do send them a payment of $29 to keep my account active. I send them an emails telling them my payment is on its way. I fax them some documents the on the 11th and followed with an email asking if they recieved my fax. They tell me no and that my account has been deactivated. In order to reactivate my account I now must send them $300. Well in the 2 1/2 years I have been paying this company they have never settled any debts or attempted to as far as I know. They never made any attempt to contact me other than to remind me of my payment, and after a while they quit doing that

Consumer Action Taken:

I sent them a letter asking for a refund of $4000. I recieved no response so I am currently filing complaints with BBB, State Attorney Generals of both states
