Consumer Statement:
We received a mailing and contacted Legal Help Group Advisors to obtain a rate modification to our existing mortgage. This request initially generated a lot of calls and correspondence. Once we engaged and a check in the amount $2,995.00 was sent, emails and calls stopped. The start date was 4/14/2013. Several attempts to contact them resulted in dead ends. Now all call numbers that were given to us are now dead. No ring. No sound.
Consumer Action Taken:
I have a record of emails and calls. Nothing returned from LHGA. Calls not returned and emails not acknowledged. The last actual person I talked to was recorded 6/13/2014. He called me stating a refund would be issued, but it never happen. Now all communication is dead and I googled the address which says the building is for lease. I contacted the BBB, reported the trouble and LHGA did not respond to them either.

The exact same thing happened to us. We filed with them in Sept 2013. We also gave them a check for $2,995.00. I filed a complaint with the BBB. They did not hear back from them either. All of the phone numbers that I have are also disconnected. I am also hoping for a refund- but, am losing hope. Have you heard if there is a class action lawsuit? I wonder if there are others that have had this same experience. It’s very unfortunate.
Same problem here. Paid the same fee a year ago and they cover their tracks with paper and excuses. I finally wrote certified letters to the BBB, the States Attorney General of California, including the local offices for each. Nothing. If there is a class action lawsuit I would like to chime in.
Wow, that is f*cked. I’d contact the attorney mentioned below, and also file a CFPB complaint as well as state attorney general complaint as the other commenter stated.

I’m Chris Livingston, a consumer protection lawyer in North Carolina. I see they are supposed to have an office in the Charlotte area, although they may just be posting a random address. It’s a long shot, but you’re welcome to call 910 876 7001 I can try to find them and see if there’s any refund to be had. If so, I can take the case contingent, that is, part of any recovery with no fee up front. Good job getting the word to BBB. Now they have an F rating so maybe people will see that and avoid them.
