Much like the letter I just read in your newsletter, I too, was scammed by Debt Defense Services. Not only did they take a lot of money from me, but they received a tax for from a credit card company in 2014 forgiving me of debt that was never forwarded to me. on 5/19/16, I received a bill from the IRS stating that I had not reported that, and now I owe the IRS over $1,000! I never knew that form existed, let alone that I had been forgiven of anything. I don’t have $1,000. I’m getting ready to go in the hospital for my second surgery in 2 months. Do I have any recourse?
Consumer Action Taken:
I attempted to contact the company at all telephone numbers I had for them, but all have been disconnected. Now I have learned that they are out of business. I was never notified of any forwarding contact information for them.
