I had a debt that I had owed for a while to Midland Funding here is the copy of the entry on my credit report

Yesterday I called to pay it off and settle the account because I needed it paid to obtain a student loan. the debt was sold to Midland Funding. This is the second time I had contacted them. At contact I was not transferred to my case manager nor Have I spoken to her. Instead I was not told I had a case manager at all. So I told them I wanted to pay the debt off. Shane Gater told me that he was authorized to settle the debt for 1,580.42 which was debited from my account today. I asked him to send me a letter by email, of the settlement agreement. He told me that they can only fax it to me on send by mail in seven to ten days. I called back today to ask them to fax it to the Dept of Education student Loans center so that they will know that the debt will be settled. I asked him to put a reference number on the fax cover sheet to which he replied that he could not do because the system he was using did not allow this. Pissed off I told him to mail the letter out. I asked to speak to the case manger today twice but each time they give me an excuse that she is with another customer. Then the representative tell me about two different accounts which is not the truth. They have entered the same account twice into the credit bureau and it appears twice but it is the same debt. It is my belief that they will try to collect twice on the same debt. and also they have refused to provide receipt of my money and proof of the agreement. I am disabled and on a fixed income.

I have called to speak with the case manager but the associates won’t put the call through where I can leave a voice message. they keep giving me the same ‘ she not available excuse.
