Consumer Complaint: There was an account opened wit h PayPal.com i n XXXX of XXXX by someone other than myself I was made aware of it on XXXX XXXX , XXXX when my actual account was ” limited until we hear from you ”, I immediately contacted PayPal.com and was made aware of the fraudulent account with a balance owed of {$1100.00} that after several attempts to dispute was deemed to be a valid account, and I would be held responsible for the balance. The only thing on the account that was mine was the social security number the name was incorrect which I uploaded AND faxed 4 ( four ) f orms of ID to verify. The address which I had once lived at when I was very young was no longer correct nor was it correct at the time the account was opened. The email address is unknown to me, yet I am still being held accountable for this debt. The legal department w ith PayPal.com has y et to respond to my Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) request for the information that I am entitled to as an identity theft victim which is crucial to me being able to prosecute whoever has done this to me. Be wary of this company they have treated me like a XXXX XXXX refusing to give me information, hanging up on me and stating that I have absolutely no alternative other than to pay this debt that I do not owe.
