Consumer Complaint: I took out a loan from a company called ” XXXX XXXX ” in XXXX of 2015 of the amount of {$2500.00}. I received a phone call from my sister that someone named XXXX contacted to verify who I am and where I live, she also contacted several other people in my family and job to get in touch with me. When I called XXXX she told me that she works for a company called ” API Recovery Solutions ” in good faith I gave her my account information because I know I took out this loan and set up a payment arrangement with her which was going to be {$400.00} a month over the course of 2 years with no interest ; however, when I looked up this company there is no information of its existence. I asked XXXX to send me a letter to confirm that she works here and I got an address which was XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, NY XXXX and phone number is XXXX. When I look up this address it is showing that it is a XXXX XXXX. She threatened to take me to court and sue me for the {$4800.00} and guaranteed me that I would loose in court. After I hung up the phone with her something did n’t seem right. I started to do my research and contacted XXXX XXXX to see where my debt had gone and they told me that it got sold to ” buyers holders inc ” and that they ca n’t give me anymore information not even a number to contact them and that I had to look it up. After looking up the company buyers holders inc, I am still not able to find any information on it. All I would like to do is find out where my debt went and see how I can settle this because none of these companies that are calling me or non- existent. I went ahead and cancelled my debit card and reported it to my bank but now I am back at step one.
