Consumer Complaint: As early as XXXX, I am seeing negative medical collections items on my credit reports as follows : Date of Service : XX/XX/XXXX AMT : XXXX Acct # : XXXX ; XXXX XXXX XXXX Date of Service : XX/XX/XXXX AMT : XXXX Acct # : XXXX ; XXXX XXXX XXXX Date of Service : XX/XX/XXXX AMT : XXXX Acct # : XXXX ; XXXX XXXX XXXX Date of Service : XX/XX/XXXX AMT : XXXX Acct # : XXXX XXXX XXXX-XXXX XXXX The dates above are for medical expenses that were billed to me. The original creditors have since sold the debt to a local debt collection agency, GLA Collections. The amounts disputed have never been verified with me, despite several letters to the 3 bureaus requesting the documentation bearing my signature contracting I owe this debt. Additionally, I have always had some sort of health coverage, whether it was under my father ‘s plan up through summer of XXXX, where my employer has now covered my insurance consistently through the present. Through corresponding with the credit bureaus and directly with the creditor, GLA Collections, the only documentation they can provide is the date of service along with the provider and amount billed to me on generic computer print out statements, without any description of the service to prove the validity of the charges. As of XX/XX/XXXX, I had also sent a letter to the Privacy Officer of the hospital over these charges in regard to them violating HIPAA when selling my information to a collections agency without my consent or knowledge. Since that correspondence, I still have not received the written communication I requested to verify this debt.
