Consumer Complaint: This issue is been going for quiet some time.
Late in XXXX I received a letter from Nelson and Kennard stating that they represent XXXX XXXX and that I owed about {$10000.00}. I had no idea who XXXX was and I mailed a letter back to them asking for more information. I also explained to them that I lost my job and my available funds were very limited. I never heard back from them. About a year later I found out that they filed a lawsuit against me. I tried to contact XXXX several times. I called and email with NO answer. I finally spoke to a person who said that she was n’t able to provide me with any information and referred me to Nelson and Kennard. I called and requested more information but I was terrified by the lawsuit and asked what will be a reasonable amount I can pay, the lady on the phone said that the only acceptable amount was somewhere around {$9900.00}. I asked to make payments and she said I should call back and talk to a ” XXXX ”. I did. I asked to see a proof of my debt. in XXXX of XXXX I also emailed and requested more information and offered to make monthly payments for the amount i owe. 4 days later they send me a file that does n’t have my signature and claimed that i owe {$10000.00}. I kept telling ” XXXX ” that the amount was incorrect.
XXXX had XXXX at her office email me an agreement requesting a lot of information and said she will have to see if she can get the payment plan approved.
I requested again to have more information that shows the breakdown of all my payment. I emailed them on XXXX and XXXX.
on XXXX I finally received another email from XXXX, this time they claimed that I owe {$10000.00}.
I requested the breakdown again on XXXX and XXXX, XXXX, XXXX. I found out that on XXXX a person came to my daughter ‘s friends home looking for me claiming to be an ” officer of the law ” and she refused to leave. she said she will be back every day until she is able to hand me some documents. That created a lot of XXXX and I know it was illegal.
