Consumer Complaint: My account was referred to a debt agency which I reached out and attempted a settlement. The debt is approximately {$4600.00}. Upon speaking with the first agent I was told a settlement of 70 % of the debt would release liability for one party but the other party on the debt would remain responsible for the remaining balance. I did advise I would call back when I had the funds available. During the time ( less than XXXX weeks ), I received multiple phone calls on my cell phone which I did not consent to but never left a voicemail I can only furnish the phone logs, when advising the agent of TCPA laws i was advised in Florida they do not have to adhere to those laws. I continued to ask about the settlement in my last call and was advised it was never guaranteed and the ” manager ” XXXX XXXX is declining a settlement. I asked the representative XXXX XXXX to pull the phone call from my original attempt and she advised me they do not record their calls and her peer is not a liar in her documentation.
