Consumer Complaint: I had a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Card through Citibank and I paid off the balance of {$22000.00} in full in XXXX XXXX. I filed a complaint with CFPB about the interest I was being charged in XXXX XXXX and the complaint was closed with no corrective action. In XXXX XXXX, I received a refund check from Citibank for this account of {$14000.00}. Prior to receiving the check I received a phone call from Citibank and the representative asked for my address to send a ” refund of interest charges. ” When I received the check there was no explanation for this refund other than the message on the stub which reads, ” Below is a refund check for the credit balance on your account. ” This account has been closed for more than five years.
