Consumer Complaint: This complaint is regarding Bank of America and their continued callousness and bullying tactics against me. I filed a complaint with your agency against Bank of America on the XX/XX/XXXX I was very descriptive and gave you various examples of how I was taken advantage of and being bullied on paying an account by Bank of America as well as the people I had hired to assist me with resolving my debt a few years ago. I had described how I made all my payments as agreed upon with my debt consolidation company in order to settle with all my creditors until I made my last payment to the law group assisting me. After I made my last payment to them, they decided to cut me loose and fend for my own against the last creditor I had left which was Bank of America.

From my understanding, my attorneys and Bank of America had agreed on me paying {$5300.00} in 12 payments of {$450.00} to settle the debt. I ended up paying a total of {$3600.00} before my multiple year agreement with the attorney group had been fulfilled and they cut me loose. There was only a {$170.00} balance left and I would have been in the clear. After everything had transpired the way it did, I actually DID try and talk to Bank of America but they didn’t want to speak to me because their records showed that I was being represented by a law group and they couldn’t speak to me. As an uninformed consumer back then, I gave up rather quickly. Now a few years later when I call Bank of America or rather I should say XXXX XXXX XXXX who is representing Bank of America in this matter, they refuse to work with me. I filed my original complaint against Bank of America in a pleading manner so that maybe they could see what was going on and step in but instead they proved to me their shallowness and callousness by simply writing that ” We understand the importance of listening to you, our customer. We appreciate the time you took to share your concerns. Below is a summary of our research and response to your concerns. ” ” Bank of America currently retains ownership of your account ; however, we have forwarded your account to an outside agency for further assistance in collection efforts. Because your account has been referred to another agency, any future correspondence or to make payment arrangements must be addressed to the agency managing the account.
You maXXXX contact XXXX XXXX XXXX directly at XXXX.

WOW! If that isn’t a slap in the face then I don’t know what is. They are basically saying that we took the time to listen to you but were not going to help you. Go deal with XXXX XXXX XXXX instead. They are feigning ignorance on this account and basically saying that XXXX XXXX XXXX will take care of this matter for them and so they have nothing to do with this account. What they aren’t telling you is that any deal I attempt to make with XXXX XXXX XXXX is being funneled to Bank of America to make decisions on. When I spoke with XXXX XXXX XXXX to offer the remaining amount I had left when I was enrolled in the debt consolidation program, XXXX XXXX XXXX stated they would ask Bank of America for an approval or denial of my settlement offer first. They then came back and told me that Bank of America had denied my offer. Basically, Bank of America is still making all the decisions on this account. If they are the ones making the decisions on any offers being made, then why am I dealing with XXXX XXXX XXXX? Why is Bank of America asking me to work with XXXX XXXX XXXX instead of just answering me directly especially when I took the time to file this complaint in the first place? Do you now see how Bank of America is just bullying me and not caring about my situation in the slightest? They didn’t even present a counter offer but rather wanted me to pay whatever I owed or at least that is how XXXX XXXX XXXX made it seem.

Again I am asking you to assist me in this matter. I have no one else to turn to and I can’t afford to pay Bank of America in full. That’s why I had enrolled in that debt consolidation program that took me 2 years to complete in the first place and that was when I had stable employment. Please help me in this. I am attempting to fulfill the agreement that was set up for me or something close to it, but I am instead just being bullied by Bank of America and XXXX XXXX XXXX.
