Consumer Complaint: My student loans has been taken over by Navient, and I’ve always had an issue with trying to repay my loan. I’ve would like an affordable income driven repayment plan, but it seems all that I’ve ever been offered when I fill out paperwork for income driven repayment plan is to XXXX back, and this amount is what I owe for a year. All the while I know that I’m accruing another year of interest. I’ve spoken with Navient representatives about trying to just mail XXXX a month or something affordable and was told none of that would even go toward paying off the principle because I owe way more than that in interest every month. Another representative told me once that I should defer my loan for the next 20 years because after that it would be forgiven anyways. I’ve felt something is wrong with Navient ever since they took over my loan. I will never be able to pay this loan back with how high my interest rate is.
