Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX. My car had to be towed by XXXX XXXX. It would not start. Tow truck driver was told to bring car to my mechanic in XXXX New Jersey. XXXX XXXX XXXX.. instead I was told I drove it to XXXX XXXX onXXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX. XXXX NJ. Because they are XXXX XXXX. Affiliated and they will give you 20 percent discount if work is done there.. I decided to try and see if it was good idea. I told The personnel at XXXX. Please call with quote before anything is done. Only to receive call hours later that car was ready and its {$480.00}. I said Im not paying that I did not approve work. He said Ill call u back with better price. He then said $ XXXX cause he shopped for lower parts and battery. Although unhappy. I went there to get my vehicle. And gave my card, I went to start my car. It would not start. All red lights came on. I said this will never pass inspection and Im not paying until they fix it. He said it wasnt doing any of this mess.. he said dont worry about card. I dont think it went through., Ill call you in a day. XX/XX/XXXX around XXXX XXXX I called and was told still working on it. At least 4 days went by. No words from shop. I noticed charge on my account from XXXX XXXX for {$390.00}. I asked my bank. Wells Fargo to file dispute. And temporarily placed back my money in my account. After 5 days they call me and said for another {$1400.00}. They can do repairs that they found the car needed. I said its not worth it its a XXXX XXXX XXXX. With several dents had water damaged and conks out all the time. None of those prices guarantee me a great running car.. I said please find lowest price battery and would you know anyone interested in purchasing vehicle.. I checked blue book value. And for car condition. It came up to between 200 and 500 dollars. I asked XXXX XXXX to hold it and let me know if someone wish to purchase and I told them about the card going through. He said Ill give you XXXX for car. And you can deal with your bank and theyll fix that..
