Consumer Complaint: Collection Agency : Ability Recovery Sercives LLC Original Debt Holder : XXXX University Written Notification Complaint # 1 : I have received numerous bills in the mail ( last one dated XX/XX/XXXX ) about a {$2600.00} debt thats supposedly owed to XXXX University. I have asked the collection agency ( last phone call on XX/XX/XXXX ) to send me an itemized bill. I have NOT received a bill. A representative for Ability Recovery Services LLC told me during a conversation on XX/XX/XXXX, that I had previously requested a bill and should have already received the statement in the mail.

Just recently, I was told by a representative with Ability Recovery Services that it would take 30 days to receive the bill and that her company policy requires that she receives the bill first, then she will send it in the mail to me. If the bill was previously requested by me and sent to me, why doesnt the collection agency already have a copy of the bill to forward? The 30 day waiting period is ridiculous.

False Statements Complaint # 2 : It has been reported to all three credit bureaus that I have defaulted on a loan thats in the amount of {$2600.00}. The original debt holder is reporting a different amount. There is a massive discrepancy in the amount being reported by XXXX and Ability Recovery Services.

Communication Tactics Complaint # 3 : Ability Recovery Services LLC rep XXXX ( last name ) was extremely unprofessional. He hung up on me while I was requesting an itemized bill. Told me that he didnt want to waste his time sending me the itemized bill because he knew I wasnt going to pay it. He took a prejudice/bias accusatory stance by stating your not going to pay this bill anyway, so why did you call.

After being hung up on, I called back and XXXX hung up the phone again, after I requested to speak to a different collections rep. Again, refusing to accept my request for an itemized bill. I had to call back a third time to talk with a professional collections agent.
