Equitable Acceptance – Consumer Complaint – October 10, 2019

Consumer Statement:

I enrolled with Equitable Assistance that stated they could lower my school load payments by signing up with them stating that I would pay them this fee and my loans would remain low. They got my payment lowered considerably the first year.

Apparently they do not actually provide the service but pass it on to a third party company.

The second year I tried to reach out for my recertification but never heard anything back from this “3rd party” Tech Knight.

Clearly I went to Equitable Acceptance as they are the ones I had an agreement with. They never did anything for over six months when they passed my case off to another 3rd party company, Titan Prep.

My repayment amount was not significantly lower than the original payment. This year Titan Prep indicated they were taking over for EA and no payments will need to be paid directly to them, stated my payment would be considerably lower but that I had to pay them $300 for their service.

I feel AE is charging me for nothing. If they hire a 3rd party while I am paying them why should I also pay another company on top of paying them. They said they only take care of three years but that is not what they originally stated.

Consumer Action Taken:

Obviously I am willing to pay one company, preferable Titan Prep and as I feel AE scams people. I would like all payments to stop to AE.
