History of the Credit Card
You didn’t mention that Congress had to pass legislation to make sure women could get a credit card. I was refused because i didn’t have a man. Women were not able to get a credit card account without a man signing for her. That was 1970. Not sure when the law was passed but it is really poor business to refuse credit cards to women just because we are women. I think the credit card issuers learned their lesson. That should be included in any history of the credit card.
