  1. The check and go application process was a complete aggravation and waste of time! I work hard and am a small business owner. After filling out a 20 minute online application, giving all my personal information, my bank account number, online banking ID, going through multiple annoying identity and text codes; I am told “sorry denied” we can supposedly not see your direct deposit. Very shady, information sucking, and deceptive application process.

  2. I am having a big problem with check n go. I tried my best to pay off my full amount but I couldn’t because of the past delinquents. Even so, after paying off the past dues, they were still asking a lot from me in order for me to pay the full amount. My principle was $4,000 and my interest was $5,775 219% I have already paid an amount of $3,100 which is ridiculous that they still expect me to pay off a remaining of $3,516. It’s like they keep wanting to dig through my pockets, and it’s empty. I’m trying to get myself out of this hole, but it seems they want me to stay there. I am currently unemployed so I’m doing the best that I can to pay off any debts.

  3. Check n Go provided me with a short term loan of $750. They conveyed that the loan would be due on the next pay date unless I contacted their office to extend the loan. In the contract, they have provided multiple payoff dates with the amount.
They did not process my loan and deposit the money until 10/26/2015. They have it scheduled to be paid in full on 10/31/2015 – five days after the deposit.
I contacted their office as directed to schedule the extension until 11/15/2015. They representative explained that I am a new customer and the full amount would be due on 10/31/2015; however, they would extend it 3 additional days.
Not how they sold the loan and not what they portrayed. The payoff amount is $939.55. Basically I am paying $37.81 per day for a five day loan.

  4. I try and be optimistic about everything but I’m no fool, I read the reviews on EVERYTHING before I make moves! I received a pre approval solicitation from Check n Go for $2500. I am about to tear it up, take a shit on it, then set it on fire on all the doorsteps of Check n Go locations across America LMAO Thank you EVERYONE! #talkaboutshittydeals

  5. We went to the check n go location on eastern. The woman working there was named Debbie. She was an older lady with blonde hair. She was rude from the beginning. I was appalled by how rude she was from the moment we walked in. She was incredibly snobby. We went weren’t able to cash our check so my boyfriend turned to me and said damnit We were the only people in there. She told him that language like that wasn’t appropriate so he apologized but she continued to be very unneccsarily rude and asked us to leave as were leaving. We did not respond well but she had treated us horribly the entire time and we were very polite back to her until she got too rude. We should have handled the situation better but ash the person working there is no excuse for her behavior. This is the worst customer service I have ever received. I will not be going back to any check and go and I recommend that people at least avoid that location as she is incredibly rude. All I can think is that maybe she’s miserable in her life and feels the need to bring other people down. That or she is a narcisist.

  6. I’ve used Check n go in Seaside California several times over the passed year and this were fine until this last week.
I told them to deposit my last check on the 31st of March. On the 6th of April I realized I needed to get another advance. The woman inside said the check hasn’t cleared and I would need to either wait the ten days our bring in proof from my bank.
I get the proof from my bank and stop by after work the following day. They had a sign stating they would return at a certain time, after waiting almost thirty minutes passed the time posted I gave up.
Stopped by after work, same thing. Ran a few errands and returned as hour later. Same woman tells me they cannot take bank info regarding the check deposit, you now have to wait the full ten days. I told her she just told me two days ago to bring it on. So I gave this rude woman the cold shoulder, gathered my things and left. I will no longer give my business to such and inept, unprofessional, rude individual again.

  8. I recently applied for a loan today at my local store location (1210 Elliot Drive) and was denied. After speaking to the associate who took my information, she didn’t understand why I was denied as my FICO is decent (around 600) and my income is pretty good (around 2100 gross) Some of the reasons listed include length of open banking account (6 months), I have a FCU account that has been open for 4 years, but I rarely use it. time at current job (again, 6 months). Mind you had they asked for previous employee they would see i was there for over a year. and home-ownership status? I am pretty sure If i need to borrow money and owned a home, I would take it out of my house, rather then a pay day loan place. Anyways, she was really confused, so I then called the customer service nubmer I found online1-800-723-7022 and was given the run around about the process. Evidently, online is completely different from the stores and no one knows exactly how the store operates or approves people? Oh and managers have the authority to approve people? Well 1 hour later and no help. I am confused and upset, as I feel not only are they misleading, but no one seems to know whats going on. Very unprofessional

  9. i went to make payment at the store in calumet city, il. the rep at the store refuse to take my payment because i didn’t have any checks, after i had explained to him that i was waiting on the checks to come. he reponded by saying to me you don’t have to pay until friday the 7th of december, regardless of the due date the man could have took the money, so this let me know that if you don’t have checks you can’t pay. so i guess i don’t have to pay according to the male rep. what if i didn’t have a check account?

    • This is the worst payday loan experience I had. The sales person accused me of writing my 5’s wrongs and felt I was on purposely giving him a wrong cellular number. I was told to leave the store. BTW I am African American. This is good grounds for a lawsuit. However; I am not going to waist my time on that pot belly ugly white dreg. Hes going to do this to the wrong customer one day and that air is going to be forced from his belly !! However I am a spiritual man, I was angry but I wiped my hands clean of the residue. Actually since visiting this site the stuff did me a major favor. This occured at the Santee. CA location

  10. I agree with the poster who said they are dishonest and unethical. I’ve gotten a payday with Ace Cash Express. I didn’t have it all the first time and they either gave me a few more days to pay for I setup a payment with them. Check ‘n Go is nowhere as god. I did not have it all on the due date. They took what I had and said I had a week to pay the rest. What I paid covered one check and part of the other. They ran the two checks the next business day. They bounced of course. When you get the loan they tell you after a check bounces you have 30 days to resolve the issue. They did an unauthorized transaction against my checking account for the remaining balance about 1 or 2 business days after the bounced checks. I didn’t get a chance to talk to them about the first problem before the second. When I finally did reach someone I was basically told, they told me the wrong thing originally. They said they were not supposed to give me another week and the 30 days after a bounced check is not really true

  11. I just upgraded a 200 loan through check ‘n go assuming that I would have the additional 175 available. Instead they deposited 123.77 into my account and now expect me to pay finance and CSO fees on a 375 dollar loan. I have acrobat reader but the documents were blank so I could not view. Had I known I would be paying 94.93 on a loan of 323.77 I never would have done it. Never heard of a lender taking finance charges and cso fee out of a loan upgrade. Very confused. I’m able to pay it back 444.93 altogether…just think how they operate is shady. paying 121.16 on a 323.77 loan. btw..I recenty paid off an 800 dollar loan thru advance america in which the fees were 120. if anything, I’d recommend them. 12. I was recently let go from Check n go for not meeting the stores debt goal. In other words, I was fired because of people who did not pay back their loans. The way that they treat the employees is very bad. We have no control over who gets a loan but they hold the employees totally responsible if the loan is not paid back. On my termination paperwork it states that to date I was not meeting my debt goal when in fact I was exceeding it and my store to date still is. They expect us to be their collection agents and want us to harass people on a daily basis. I was also told that I had received some fake SSI letters from customers that I had loaned to but they would not tell me which ones were fake?? Hello?? Is that not a Federal Offense to falsify SSI documentation? I kept asking and was just told more to follow. If this was true, would Check n Go if a legit company not have done something about this? The last 2 months of my employment it was as if I was shunned  I was offered no help and was even told by my acting boss to break policy…which I did not do. There were weeks that I worked over 55 hours.

This was my first, and last job in this field. I could never work for a company like this again. Everyday I came home feeling bad, not my kind of thing. Check N Go is nothing more than a modern day Loan Sharking Operation that should be shut down. They even go as far as to offer incentive contests to see who can collect the most money for bad debt by going into peoples accounts.

And the way they treat the employees…well, if you still work there, get out while you can.
    NEVER, NEVER GO THERE!

    •  I agree with everything you have said, I currently work here. I have only been with the company for 4 months and I am ready to get as far away as I can. This place does things that I do not agree with, I am used to a team environment this place is sooo not that. There was another employee who helped me with my collection calls and the store manager found out and reprimanded this lady for helping me. Managers deny loans to people by their looks, yes I said it, you can be manually denied folks. There should definitely be employee drug testing enforced, because some of the employees here are questionable.

You can’t talk to upper management if you have a complaint about the store you work at, because the upper management and store managers are all buddies. When there were some issues and I tried to voice my opinion, I was treated as though I was the problem.

Store Managers hire their friends, with no interview and also help them take the assessment tests. There is so much wrong with this company that I could go on and on, but I won’t JUST STAY AWAY customers and potential employees.

  13. I took out a payday loan about three months ago. I had been taking the option to “pay it down” until I lost my job about two weeks ago. Obviously when they tried to debit my account last week, it didn’t go through (I had already called them to try and set up arrangements, but those obviously didn’t last). I have been getting calls every 30 minutes from these people since Monday. They called my previous employer today looking for me, and the girl was beyond rude saying that the person that answered the phone had to of been me. Yes people do fall on hard times, however when you threaten me and are rude and nasty to people you contact trying to get your money back (which according to Ohio law, you are charging TOO much in interest) makes me REFUSE to pay you.

Filing for bankruptcy, and letting my attorney have a field day with these people..

  14. My husband took out a pay day loan with these guys 3-4 years ago. Not sure exactly.  He was laid off from his job and stopped making payments on this account 3 years ago.  We have recently been receiving phone calls from collectors saying they are going to issue warrants for our arrest due to the 3 checks that were given when the loan was made.  They have tried to run these checks and of course we closed the account 3 years ago.  They are threatening to have warrants issued for both of us for felony fraud.  I was not part of the loan at all.  Now they are calling asking for my husband as they need to serve him a subpena to appear in court.  Totally confused……………is any of this legal?

  15. In all fairness to the company most of you people try to get too much money out and you cant afford to pay it back. or you apply for a bunch of different online loans that only lead to more bullshit. if you people would stop and think to review every site thoroughly first before applying and to only apply for what you know you could pay back then there would be no problem. so you are all morons for having no clue as to what youre talking about

    • People who are always telling others what they should be doing are just annoying. It’s just like the people who would tell people what they should be doing when the issue of how banks have changed how they handle overdraft fees came up. These same kind of people try to tell someone what kind of job they SHOULD have, so they don’t have any financial issues.

  16. I have just received information today that I had supposedly gotten a $1000 loan back in 2008 and had the money deposited into my ex-husbands bank account.  They told me if I paid so much amount they can take my name of the loan and keep me out of court and charge my ex with fraud also. They said once he is arrested his bond will be so much so that I will get my money back from his bond.  How is it that a person can get a loan online and ask for it to be deposited into someone elses bank account other than their own and check n go doesn’t bother to call the person applying for the loan to verify they were the one actually getting the loan and to verify they are wanting it deposited into someone elses account.  I’m not sure what to do about this because at the time the loan was applied for and deposited into his account, I was still married to him but we lived seperately.

  17. I took a loan out with Check N Go a while ago.  I went through some major life changes and forgot about this debt.  The recently contacted me and I was able to set something up.  When I couldn’t make the arragement we had set up, I called them and they said ok we will call you on the date it was due and set something up.  They still took the payment and left me with a negative balance and over draft fees in my account.  I tried to call my representative to discuss this with her and I got yelled at and hung up on by a girl named Alicia.  I would NOT recommend this company at all.

  18. Today I looked into my account and saw where Check N Go had taken $30.00 out of my account that I did not authorize. When calling, the person I spoke to gave me the run around about it and even tried to push a loan on me as well. I told her all I wanted was my money back into my account. Instead she offered my gas vouchers. How do I resolve this and any future incidents like it.

  19. As a former employee of check n go I can tell you from insider experience that they are ripping the customers off. If they read their loan agreements they will see that they are getting charged a 10.00 credit check fee and a 2.50 processing fee. As associates we are told we have to more or less bully the customer into taking the biggest amount they are eligable to get. They also want us to con the customers into cashing their checks in the store so that they can get a portion of the money back that they just loaned the customer. I also agree with a previous post about how they treat their employees and managers. I have seen my previous manager work as much as 15 extra hours a week and only get paid half his hourly rate. They will also force you to work 10 hour shift with no breaks or lunches. This company is getting elderly people into debt that they can not get out of. I believe that all these places are good for is an emergency situation. Pay it off and never go back.

    • Are their any Payday places out there, online or in person, who don’t charge a higher interest rate for the larger amounts. I’ve seen some where the difference between a $300 and a $400 is as much as 90% interest. At least he online ones give you the option of just paying the service fee and giving you an extension until the next payday. In some ways I blame the banks. They should offer slightly cheaper cash advances to loyal customers who’ve had direct deposit for a certain frame of time. I’m with Wells Fargo, and they don’t even do it in my state. IN the states where they do it, it’s about like going to a payday place. I think they charge like 20 for ever hundred you borrow. If these banks can do personal loans where the minimum you borrow is 2K, they can do 1K or less

    •  I currently work for this company, and I can attest to you that not all the employees that work here are like that, but “YES, YES, YES” this is the worst place I have ever worked for. We are taught to lie to our customers, call them 9 times a day (work, cell and references) until there is a live contact, but even then we are taught to threaten these people who take the loans and fall on hard times and can’t pay back. If I knew then what I know now, I would have never left my previous employer to come work for Check n’ Go. So it is not the employees who should be the blame, it is Store Managers and District Managers who are to blame, because the Customer Service Reps are just basically doing what they are told.

  22. I’ve been using the checkngo inline process for several months. I’ve just taken my fifth consecutive loan as I’m on a medical leave and not making as much money as I was. I’m in Oklahoma and I’ve read that after your 5th loan, you can set up installments.
Is this what some of these posts have been referring to?
Im hesitant to call them and ask since they’ll know my intent to ask for an installment when this 5th Liam isn’t due until the first. What if they tell me that option is not available in my state?

  23. Wow. You know I have always used the online service, and never had any problems.  But I don’t borrow anything more than $100.  I was thinking about applying for a bigger loan, like $3,000, but after reading this page, I completely changed my mind.  Think I’ll stick to the small stuff.  Times are tough, I hope things work out for everyone.

So basically “send me a check” and if we don’t clear it we will take the double payment out the same day” Bull crap, no help at all. I am on a leave of absense from work because I just had surgery and they don’t want to help. I wouldn’t EVER do business with them again.

  26. Sorry 6:02pm. At that time I was told they were closing so I asked when I could come in today and pay on full and we agreed on 4:15pm. Once more I was told they needed an updated phone number so a little annoyed I gave it again. After getting there to pay it and informed of the situation I was argued with saying I had never called and even if I had the computers would have already been shut down by 6:02pm so my info would not have been put in and since I failed to give them a working number I broke the agreement which allowed then to debit my account early. I was furious! It all cleared my bank just fine and she was like ohh its all good you shouldn’t be upset just go make a deposit at your bank. Well aside from either being called a liar or imaging the phone calls I showed her onmy cell phone record any deposit made after 3 pm will not be credited until the following business day so what happens if my checks bounce because of them? They want you to payback in cash and that is what I was tested for so what now? I am sooo fist rated and this woman claims to be a supervisor! She is a liar! Lease advise on what to do anyone? 27. Until today I would have happily recommended Check n go to anyone as I have used them and paid them back faithfully for 6 yrs. As of today though I will never use them again and here is the reason why: My recent loan I had gone into store and paid for an extension with tomorrow being the due date. I go onto store cash in hand to pay off loan in full and am told that they already turned in a cashiers check because they could not reach me because my number was a non working number. I did have to get a new phone and service 2 wld ago and that day called Check n go and gave them my new number. It’s shows this under recent calls I’ve made from my cell hone to the local Check n go. Then I called 2 days ago and told them I would be in early to sy off my loan yesterday but was unable to get there right then so called them again as they were closing at 6pm and again my phone shows my call to them at 6:3 pm

  28. Check N Go Sold my SSN and my bank account information. I received a $300 loan into my bank account AFTER I advised them I did not want it. The loan came from a company I have never heard of. I began receiving roughly 30-50 calls a day along with email from other “lenders” who have taken it to the point of harassment. I was told by one that I had a loan from 2 weeks ago and he is pulling $1500 out of my account. I had to immediately cancel my bank account due to this “unknown caller” threatening me. Check N Go claims they dont sell your informaiton – THEY DO! This was the only lender I applied through. Criminals now have my banking information and there is no way to stop it. Check N Go cant even provide me with WHO they sold my information to. STAY AWAY FROM CHECK N GO. I also filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission citing unfair and unethical business practices.

  32. I recently took out a loan with CheckNGo, and went in to make my first installment payment. I noticed that the advertisement on the wall stated the amount of my loan was for 16 biweekly payments. When I looked over my loan agreement, it has it for 19 payments. I asked the manager to help me with this, she looked over my files, but then got really defensive. She said to call her district manager, that she could not help me. I then asked to get a copy of the flyer that shows 16 payments. She said she was not permitted to allow a copy to leave her store.
Another thing: I prepaid 2 additional payments on the loan, but they didn’t seem to apply it on the principle. So I am searching for a calculator that will amortize this type of installment loan.
I would love to hear from someone at CheckNGo to help me out. I did call the number of the District manager, of course she wasn’t there and had to leave a message.
    Thanks,
    GM

  33. I have an installment loan from Check N Go. I notice that the schduled payment that was supposed to be debited out of my account was before the day I would deposit my check. So as a responsible person, I called Check N Go to see if they can change the schduled due date. The repersentative helpfully change my payement status from bi-weekly payment to sami-weekly payment and changed schduled date for Check N Go to debit payment out of my account. I checked my account today and found out that they debited payment twice. So I called Check N Go and even talked to a supervisor and he acknowledge that they didn’t debit the payment twice on the same day out of my account. I asked if they can reverse the payment and debit the payment on the schdule date we agreed on and was told there was nothing they could do. I am a single mother and I don’t have alot of money, this is the reason I went to Check N Go, but they refusing to help even when it was clearly there fault clearly shows that Check N Go is Coperate Crooks. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE ANY LOAN FROM THEM.

I am being harassed by Check ‘n Go.  They called me 5 times today and when I finally answered the operator started yelling at me asking me if I had a job to pay back the loan and that until I pay it back the collection calls are going to continue to come.  I’ve been told laws say they are not allowed to call more than 3 times in a week, yet they already exceeded that limit in one day.

  36. Check ‘n Go is a dishonest and unethical company. Store Managers were encouraged to post false reviews on websites such as Yelp to drive business. They are required to call and harass former customers to take out new loans. Do not do business here.

  38. I am also having the same issue. I received a payday loan thru checkngo then all of a sudden a week later some guy begins calling me on my cell phone and work phone telling me that if I dont pay my payday loan back someone is going to come to my work and I will regret it? This is pretty crazy but now I dont even want to answer my phone anymore. ChecknGo helped during the holidays but now I regret getting the loan.

  39. Matt,

Thanks for dropping by. For people that can’t afford their payment to Check ‘n Go, what is the process for them to get a reduced payment or a payment plan they can afford to meet?

  40. dawn_allard, my name is Matt and I and the Director of Operations for Check ‘n Go’s online processing unit. I want to assure you that we do not sell information to criminals. However, we do work to connect applicants who live outside of our states of operations, don’t have direct deposit or don’t meet our credit requirements to reputable lenders. I hope that you were able to get your issues resolved with those companies that were calling you. Also be advised that if you applied with other “lenders” when you were attempting to apply at http://www.checkngo.com you may have applied with lead aggregators. These are sites/companies that do not actually perform any underwriting or have any intent to directly lend you money. They simply offer your information to the highest bidder.

  41. Check N Go helped us during some difficult times, but now I found out our information was sold and put into the hands of criminals. My husband is being harrassed at work and on his cell and the information these people have is the same info he gave Check N Go. Although Check N Go helped us keep our lights on and water on, it is now a nightmare. Hope this info helps others.

      • Hi Matt my name is Stephanie and I just took out a loan with check and go. I soon after realized that the payment date of June 1st was incorrect and called the company and was very rudely told that the date could not be changed to agree with my pay dates. I am willing to give my debit card number to the company to straighten this problem out. I know I have some fault in this too, but if there is anyway you can help would be appreciated. I am getting no where with your company. I can pay the payment amount on my pay days with no problem. Please Please help. My email smowbray62@yahoo.com

      • This company is a scam. I wrote a check I attempted to make arrangements after I lost my job they refused. I was forced to close my checking account. They would only accept the full payment or a minimum of 75 every week. Later they sold my debt to a third party company that has called threatening to take legal action against me twice now! Researched the law and they are not allowed to do so by law.
