Me and Consumer Credit Counseling of America. – Debra

In march of 2007, I thought I was doing something positive about my financial debt. I contacted Consumer Credit Counseling of America to help stop the creditors harassing calls. I thought it was based in California. I was surprised to receive the paperwork with Law offices of Richard A. Brennan letterhead, but went ahead with it. Due to my circumstances and health issues at the time, I was easily overwhelmed by life, so I just went ahead with the footwork ( and paperwork). I didn’t research anything. Looking back, I feel very foolish and stupid.

They explained that they were paid first out of the installments ($5000) then, the money would start accruing towards my debt. I’ve been paying since March 2007 until today November 2010.

Do you know anything about what’s happening in CA re. this Group? I am going to read your “How to get out of a Debt Relief program and Get a Big Refund” booklet. Does it work? Did it work for others?
