They took advantage of my mother in law who has a fixed income. She has to watch children just to make ends meet. She needed help with her mortgage and signed with Novation. They took over 3,000 from her and NEVER DID ANYTHING to help with her mortgage. We contacted them many times over a 6 month spam and we were always told to call back in 2 weeks. We finally contacted her mortgage company and they verified that NO ONE EVER contacted them about the mortgage. When we told Novation they had the nerve to get mad at us and said we were to never call the mortgage company and ask about them. They have never returned our calls since and NEVER returned the money. It’s been over a year now. These people ARE THIEVES!!! I can’t believe someone would do this to a senior citizen!!
I don’t even know how to begin the process so she can get her money back.
after signing on with novation I found out that they are not allowed to do business in ct. I’m going on 6 months. been denied modification. A represenative told me not to pay mortgage payment and put me in default now. trying to get ahold of someone finally did waiting to here from them again.
Novation Law Center has been a disaster for me!
As of yesterday I have not been able to contact any of the seven representatives I have been shuttled from one to the other over the past five and a half months. Even the main headquarters number is just like all the others,,,,,,”busy signal” repeatedly over many hours in the day. Finally out of business?
I am a victim of my own gullabilty. They got my money as any fraudulant scheme is prone to do.
The National Debt Settlement Bureau gave them an “A” rating. Something wrong there!
Too bad there is no recourse for victims…..other than to caution anyone who receives unsolicited promises to help with mortgage modification and alleged certifications of legitimacy…..just say, “NO”!
Ray,
There is no government sanctioned “National Debt Settlement Bureau”. It is likely just some rating by someone pushing for lead referral or commission money.
We just found out today that all numbers we were given are “busy.” The e-mail addresses are no longer in use. We have been getting the run around since May 2011. Even the website for Novation Law is not exsistant anymore. Did you report this to anyone? How do we go about reporting to an agency to help us?
The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency issued this alert previously about them. They may have run for cover and vanished.
I thought they were located in California. Do you have an address for them?

Novation Marketing Center and Novation Law Center: Deceptive Correspondence Regarding Mortgages Held by National Bank Consumers
To: Chief Executive Officers of All National Banks; All State Banking Authorities; Chairman, Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System; Chairman, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation; Conference of State Bank Supervisors; Deputy Comptrollers (districts); Assistant Deputy
Re: Deceptive Correspondence—Payment Reduction Notice
Webster Bank, Waterbury, Connecticut, has notified the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) that the bank’s customers have received loan modification solicitations from two California companies, Novation Marketing Center and Novation Law Center. Neither company is affiliated with Webster Bank nor authorized to act on behalf of Webster Bank.
On March 17, 2011, the Office of the Attorney General of Connecticut issued a press statement warning consumers that these companies are not licensed in Connecticut to provide mortgage loan modification services and are not affiliated with Webster Bank. The statement noted that consumers need to be aware of scams in which unlicensed companies masquerade as affiliates of banks or other financial institutions when, in fact, they have no legal connection or authorization. The Connecticut Attorney General also sent a letter to the Novation companies demanding that they cease and desist from doing business in Connecticut without a license.
The payment reduction notices contain language that may lead consumers to believe that they are in danger of losing their homes and urge consumers to call (888) 581-8793 within 30 days. The notices are deceptive and misleading because they falsely lead consumers to believe that Webster Bank is offering this program.

Novation Law Center is a 100% fraud comapny, four states have sued the company, I’ realy surprised you successful story with Novation Law Center.
Novation Law assisted me in obtaining a permanent modification from my lender Bank of America. In all the process took about 4 months and was was for the most part stress free. They made sure I was a qualified candidate before accepting me as a client. Something thats quite rare with these types of firms becuase as I was considering which firm to go with (I was talking to a few), they were the only ones that took time to process an application before accpepting me.
The end result was a modifcation through Making Home Affordalble with a start rate at 2% and a cap rate at 5%. I am nothing more than grateful for the results they were able to provide me.
Thanks!
