A tipster (send in your tips here) sent me the link for the Legal Assistance Center in Florida that now has a defined part of their practice to go after what they call, “credit scams.”
The page describing this part of their practice says:
Many debt relief and loan modification companies simply charge large upfront fees with promises that are never kept, but we can help. Have one of these companies guaranteed you results? Or that you would get your money back if not satisfied? Have many months or even years gone by with no results? Do you feel you’ve been ripped off? Now, what do you do? Call us. At the Legal Assistance Center, we have aggressive and experienced attorneys who file claims and lawsuits against these companies and individuals to recover these fees back for you. And we provide this service with no cost to client until recovery. Ask yourself these questions:.
Did you pay an upfront fee to these companies?
Did they refuse to return your fee or only give you a portion of it?
Did they make promises or guarantees to you?
If you answered YES to any of these questions, you may be entitled to your fee as well as additional damages. If you feel that you’ve been scammed or ripped off by a company, individual or even a lawyer who never performed that loan modification or debt settlement service, please call us toll free now for a free consultation so you can know your rights. – Source

We have been seeing some “legal” groups going after each other!ÂÂ
Steve- Have you reached out to this firm for their spin on what they do?
That would be interesting to see what they do. The Express Debt Settlement case would be a good one.
Interesting. The issue that immediately springs to mind is Express Debt Settlement stealing 17,000 dollars from a consumer and refusing to refund a dime after doing nothing but make her situation worse. I am going to call this firm on Monday and see if they will take the case. Would be a good case to test it on since it is for so much money.
I will keep you posted with the results.

I doubt it- I like that they only take a fee for results, so that’s a good sign…
