United Employee Benefits Group – Watch List

The following information appears only because this entity has hit my radar and has raised a concern and I do not want to lose this information. I’m keeping it handy in case issues appear in the future.

Steve Notes

United Employee Benefits Group has come up a few times recently. A comment was just added today by someone that claims they are sending out the same debt relief fax as was sent out by National Employee Benefits Group.

The Pitch

United Employee Benefits Group is a financial resolution organization staffed by today’s top financial professionals in asset based and non asset based risk management. With more than 20 years experience in banking and mortgage banking related fields; United Employee Benefits Group has the industry leading financial programs which allow for the restructuring of financial strategies to better serve the evolving circumstances of today’s borrowers. – Source

There is no registered company in Texas or California under the name United Employee Benefits Group.

Even information on their own home page does not add up.

They say:

It is important to note that United Employee Benefits financial programs originated as a financial service to borrowers/clients of Benchmark mortgage (Winton, Ca.). Through unprecedented demand for mortgage restructuring alternatives and the need for national solutions to overcome borrower defaults, United Employee Benefits was elevated as its own free standing national entity in 2008 to meet the growing demands of the national banking crisis.

In 2009, the entire Benchmark Mortgage Branch (Winton CA.) became the operational management of United Employee Benefits and its financial services program.

But they they say:

United Employee Benefits Groups CEO is the former Branch Partner and Branch Manager (Winton, CA.) of the nationally respected mortgage banking operation of Benchmark Mortgage.

So are they formerly with the mortgage company or currently with them?

Then there is this relationship with Benchmark Mortgage, who the site they link to claims they are located in Texas. – Source

A search of Texas business records found only companies named Benchmark Mortgage to not be in good standing.

The domain, benchmarkmortgagebank.com, that they rely on to point out their legitimacy is owned by:

Tim Gibbons
PO Box 61359
Sunnyvale, CA 94088

Interestingly he’s the same guy that also owns the domain name of the National Employee Benefits Group that was also sending out the fax I show in this article.

None of this adds up and makes me very suspicious. My advice is if you are contacted by United Employee Benefits Group – RUN AWAY.

If you have had any experience with this program, please post your comments and feedback in the comments below.

  1. Steve. We need more people like you! Thanks for putting this up so people can see what a bunch of crooks these guys are. They are working hard to make it look legitimate with the (tacky) web site and references. They don’t give a crap about the fines because its just a cost of doing business. I suspect the phone numbers change on the junk faxes to avoid the FCC. FYI… DO NOT ever use the “fax remove number or web site” this is just a conformation and collection point for numbers to be resold. Remember these guys don’t play by the rules they are criminals and will be out of business soon. The problem is they will come back as some other kind of scam.
Queenb001 is a prime example of damage control on there part (tacky again).
I contacted the FCC and there response was they don,t have enough agents to keep up with all the crooks. But they did say the ones that get a lot of complaints do get followed up on and are fined again and again. Please start using the complaint site and make it not as lucrative for these criminals and the rest of the junk faxers. FCC form takes a few minutes to complete.  https://esupport.fcc.gov/ccmsforms/form1088.action

  2. What blows my mind is that these scam artists are still sending this deceptive fax after the state of California hit them with a cease and desist.  These guys are below scum….to market yourself as an “Employee Benefits Group” when in reality you are selling a debt settlement program is a new low.

  3. I received a fax in my office this morning from them. It’s written as if it’s an interoffice memo from a corporate head office.

Any outfit that has to resort to misleading memos can’t be up to any good.

  5. I just posted on your other blog ” Dubious Fax”. I would go into another spill about how I am a previous client, but if people want to really do their research then they can review my blog there. People lets realize that this is a blog site with opinions and little stated facts. Steve Rhode, I have a question. Have you or do you know of anyone who has actually used their services? Also, you continue to call the man that runs it a scam? So because he owns a company that merged with United due to the fact they now service Canada, he is a fraud? Again, do your home work… As a previous client I am a little disturbed by your accusation’s that hold not proof. I built a working relationship with my financial specialist their and I guess that’s why I am defending them…. As a widow’d parent, my home was the last thing I could offered to lose. Their program restructured my debts and restructured me to have an actual chance for the banks to modify me, they never did claim to modify me and the openly admit that only the bank will modify your loan. Anyways, had I not made the decision to go with these guys, there is no telling where my son and I would be as we only have each other. With him being 8, there is obviously a lot of things I must achieve to keep him on the right path. These people helped me beyond just my finances but due to their services, we still have a home and zero debt. I am not trying to sale any one on the idea to go with them, but to see your allegations disturbs me, as there could be a person out there going through the exact same thing. They may read your site and see your propaganda, which discourages them, due to they feel there is no hope available. Now you have just caused a person to lose faith in which I hope you understand the potential harm you cause with this Mr. Rhode. Freedom of speech is a right but slander should hold consequences, and this Mr. Rhode is pure slander. If slander makes your wealth, then who is the ream scam artist? NEBG/UEBG are accomplishing more then posting blog’s, they are saving life’s
