Fired Credit Counseling Employee Accused of Credit Card Theft

A former employee of Middletown, Ohio non-profit credit counseling group, Christian Credit Outreach managed to charge $15,179 on a company credit card before being discovered and sought.

The counseling agency reportedly notified police of the suspected theft and the police said an arrest is likely.

And as yet another entry under the ‘crooks are stupid’ category, the employ had purchased a gift card to a local driving school, school supplies and an “employee recognition dinner” that other employees claimed to have never attended.

Christian Credit Outreach was founded in 1991 and is now located on Roosevelt Avenue in Franklin. McTaggart, who works out of California, said company employees travel to host trade shows and conferences. The employee’s alleged thefts, he said, “slipped through the cracks.”

He added that the company is struggling, and he has not personally drawn a paycheck since April.

  1. Love how the full article stated that it wasn’t her first time.  Hope she gets the max, but typically white collar crime is a slap on the wrist.
