In December of 2011 I was looking for a pay day loan and submitted a request via the web. I found a company that I felt was legit and applied for the pay day loan, got it and have since paid it back. I noticed a 30.00 withdrawal on my bank account before Christmas and it wasn’t from the company my loan was with.

Consumer Action Taken:

I contacted the phone # that was listed on my bank statement to find out why this company made an unauthorized debit from my checking account. They told me I sent an application to them for a pay day loan and that was their application fee. I immediately told them that I did not send anything to their company and that I wanted my 30.00 credited back to my account. After over 20 minutes of listening to this was a one time fee and if I decided to use the company for loans going forward I wouldn’t have to pay any additional fees I had heard enough. I ask to speak to a supervisor and I let the lady I was speaking with know that I felt they were a scam and I would be contacting the BBB and the Attorney Generals Office. She placed me on hold and came back to tell me that since they were not a scam company and cared about customer service they were going to credit my account back the 30.00. I was to wait 10 days. After almost 2 weeks there was still nothing in my account so I called back. I was told there was an error in their system and they would process it again and I should see it within 7 days. Again I waited almost 2 weeks and still no money. I made the 3rd call and this time I was given another phone number and was told if I didn’t see my money within 24 hours to contact this number. There was no money 2 days later so I called the new number and was told that they had been having many issues with trying to get refunds back to the bank and that I should see my money within 3 days. Again no money was deposited and now both of the phone numbers are disconnected.
