Consumer Statement:

I entered a debt management program, Consumer Law Group and contract was breeched. There were 2 offers made to consumer via creditors that I WAS NOT made aware of, in which it clearly states in contract all offers are to made to client and given the chance to accept. After 20 months I was sued via Citibank and had to go to court not represented. The debt was not settled. I was repeatedly told to “go to court. Maybe it will be thrown out.” In which I repeatedly replied, I don’t want to go to court. That’s what I’m paying you for.” I have since been to court without debt settled. I sent letteer to Consumer via certified mail requesting to be relinquished from program and all monies in escrow account as well as attorneys fees be refunded and requested 14 day response, in which I did not receive. After multiple calls to Al, account manager, I was able to speak with him. He would not address the fact that I was not m ade aware of settlement offers that I would have been able to accept at that time due to sum of money I was gifted via family and made Consumer aware of. I was refused a refund as well as being spoken to as unproffesionally as I have ever experienced by a so-called professional organization. After calling and speaking to 3 different people attempting to locate third party escrow account bank and was given name of 3 different banks, I did eventually locate my money at Global Solutions and was promptly assisted with process of written request to close account and refund my money, which I did so via email and have record of. I am requesting assistance with having my attorney fees reimbursed from this preditory company which clearly needs to be shut down. I now know they have a “F” rating with the BBB. I have also filed a complaint with BBB and Attorney General in Florida. Thanks for any assistance You can give me with getting my money returned.

Consumer Action Taken:

written request and mailed via certified letter requesting response within 14 days in which they did not do. A verbal request in which I was denied. Spending many hours tracking and investigating which bank was third party escrow and writing written request to close account and escrow money, in which they did so.

The Florida attorney general has filed suit. North Carolina has gone after them as well. Al Mays is the “negotiations department” manager. He has no college education from what I know of. There are also ex felons with in the office as well. Basically it’s a call center with bunch of people with a script that are told to say they are legal assistants. They are all low grade trash. They are not a
real law group. Trust me I am a former employee. I left there once I found out what the real deal was. Once the Florida Attorney General is done with them, they will be shut down. The Fl Ag is trying to recoup for all customers that were scammed. You should also complain to your own state’s attorney general as well.
