Consumer Statement:

When I hired Legal Helpers Debt Resolution to fix my debt and get me out of it. But instead they didn’t do anything but take my money, and power attorney that they used wrong. Attorney fee’s of $500 just in case I needed an attorney to go to court with me; he/she would not go into the court room with me; but supposely can help me mediate with the creditors. Play they took over $2000.00 from me and promised that they were dealing with the small cards first. But when one credit card has 900 on it and another one has $1300; wouldn’t you think they would pay off the $900.00 one first; but they kept telling me was they were dealing with Chase when they really weren’t. Also when I cancelled my contract with them and closed my checking account by withdrawing anyh money in there; I sign a peper canceling my power of attorney with them. But when I got in touch with all the credit debtors they told me they couldn’t talk to me since Legal Helpers Debt Resolution was power of attorney from me. I told the creditors that I cancelled their power of attorney alont time ago ( 6 months). So I took away the power attorney verbally and written so the companies would deal direct with me. And started to clean up my debt myself and sticking to a budget.

Consumer Action Taken:

I cancelled my contract with them and they already had of $$3,113.55 from me;

The contract stated if cancel I lose all the money so I figured I couldn’t do
anything.

But for someone to take $500 retainer fee just in case I need to go to court should have been given back. Also the companies falsified the power of attorney agreement with them and I cancelled it but it was never sent a letter out; but six months I was later told that they still was using my cancelled power of attorney. I know that is legal in some way.
