We are separated and not living together and i do not know how everything is going to go long term.
Here is my question and thank you. My husband and I are separated but not divorced yet I live in one of our houses and he lives in another house we own. Well now he can not make it and neither can I can we file bankrupcy separatly and exempt each homestead that each of us live in separatly with separate filings? Thanks

You really need to engage an attorney. There are differences from state to state when it comes to housing and there will be questions about joint versus individual ownership, community property, mortgage responsibility and a host of issues. And your divorce attorney may disagree with your bankruptcy attorney about certain things so make sure you listen to the right attorney.
Good Luck!
