Jeffrey Hyslip from LHDR Starts New Debt Relief Company – Lifetime Debt Solutions

A tipster (send in your tips here) notified me about a new website, Lifetime Debt Solutions. This debt relief company appears to be the newest incarnation of Jeffrey Hyslip, Esq. of Legal Helpers Debt Resolution fame.

Like Legal Helpers Debt Resolution, Lifetime Debt Solutions is located in Chicago, and just down the street on S. Wacker Drive.

The company, Lifetime Debt Solutions, LLC is said to be a “service of Hyslip & Taylor, LLC. According to public records, Lifetime Debt Solutions was formed on June 28, 2012 and is owned by Jeffrey Hyslip and Michelle Macey. – Source

We can only hope that Lifetime Debt Solutions can emerge above the mess and legacy of lawsuits created by Legal Helpers Debt Resolution and the firm of Macey, Aleman, Hyslip & Searns.

The Lifetime Debt Solutions site says:

We believe that people are the most important asset of our business and that if we make them our #1 priority, success will follow. – Source

I sure hope that is true.

The site says that the core people involved with this new iteration are Jeffrey Hyslip, Michelle Macey (Michelle Taylor-Macey), Michael Bane, and Chelsea Burg. The site provides bios of each.

Interestingly, while Lifetime Debt Solutions is located in Illinois, Jeffrey Hyslip, according to the online ARDC website is not licensed to practice law in Illinois. – Source

There is an ongoing disciplinary action against Thomas Macey and Jeffrey Aleman from Legal Helpers Debt Resolution that could not include Hyslip since he was not licensed to practice law in Illinois.

In somewhat of an oddity, the company lists 200 S. Wacker Drive, Suite 3100, Chicago as their address on the bottom of their website but then says that their corporate headquarters is located elsewhere at 225 W. Washington Street, Suite 2200, Chicago, an office that a number of other companies utilize.

The other addresses the company claims are:

Jeffrey Hyslip is licensed to practice law in Ohio and his office address is different than the ones above. According to the Ohio Supreme Court his office is located at 2610 N Talman Avenue, Suite #4, Chicago, IL 60647. Source

A street view of that location actually looks more like an apartment building than a law office. – Source

So this makes the Ohio office locations even more puzzling.

On top of that, why even list all these rented virtual offices at all when the staff consists three lawyers and a paralegal? There appear to be more offices than people.

What Makes Lifetime Debt Solutions Different

According to the Lifetime Debt Solutions website, they don’t do debt settlement. Instead they list their practice areas as bankruptcy and suing debt collectors. – Source

They have launched another site at

They Hate Debt Settlement

It could just be that the reason Hyslip and Macey at Lifetime Debt Solutions don’t do debt settlement is because they now apparently hate it unless you force them to do it for you.

Debt Settlement – It’s all the same, debt settlement, debt negotiation, debt resolution, debt adjusting – they are all different words for the same thing. Basically, it is one of the bankruptcy alternatives that requires you stop paying your creditors to hopefully get them desperate for your money. At the same time you’ll start saving your money (while paying the debt settlement company their, sometimes excessive, fees) to eventually provide the creditors with a settlement offer. In the meantime, its possible that you get sued, harassed, and your credit will likely take a nose dive. Many times debt settlement is like playing Russian Roulette since you never know how the Creditors are going to react. With that said, it is also a useful tool for consumers that are either 100% against or don’t qualify for Bankruptcy. Word of caution, make sure you hire an attorney to do this for you. The industry is filled with slime ball despicable examples of human beings that’ll lie, cheat and misappropriate your hard earned money. If you twist our arms we’ll provide you with debt negotiation services. We’re experienced at doing so and although the risks sometime make our stomachs turn, debt settlement has helped millions of people nationwide. – Source

And the advice gets even stranger from Hyslip on their website, “If you are completely opposed to filing bankruptcy, here are three bankruptcy alternatives that I neither endorse nor recommend.” Those choices include credit counseling, debt settlement, and Make a Wish Fountain.

And for a guy that was part of a company that bragged they were one of the largest providers of debt settlement previously and that bankruptcy was to be avoided at all costs, now the statement is that “bankruptcy should be viewed as a treasure.”

I so look forward to do-over stories about people that learn from their mistakes and move forward turning a new leaf. The question is, is Lifetime Debt Solutions one of those companies?
