Saltzman Law Group Complaints: What to Know

Quick Answer: Saltzman Law Group faces complaints about misleading fee disclosures, with one Texas consumer reporting $545 in unexpected legal fees while accumulating only $15 toward debt settlement. The company allegedly misrepresented that clients would pay minimal monthly maintenance fees after upfront costs.

Consumer Statement:

I was verbally told that my legal fees would come out up front and then would be only be paying a small maintenance fee monthly of about $10.

Consumer Action Taken:

Most money news tells you what happened. I tell you what to do about it.

Every weekday I read the enforcement actions, filings and fine print the outlets skip, and turn them into the one or two moves that actually improve your position — a rate worth moving for, a fee you can refuse, a deadline to beat before it costs you.

I write Your Money Actually most weekdays — actionable money information you will not find anywhere else, and the small decisions that compound. It is free, I sell nothing, and I take no money from any company I write about.

I reduced my auto-debit due to having a tax bill to pay and the rep at Saltzman told me that I only owed one more legal fee payment of $150 but conveniently did not tell me that I would be paying a new amount of $49 in legal fees and a couple of back fees for months I couldn’t afford an auto-draft so that 85% of my monthly draft would go to “legal fees” and that it would not benefit me to reduce my draft.

I have basically paid $545 in legal fees and accumulated $15 towards my next settlement.

I’m certain they were fully aware that had they disclosed this that I would have cancelled my contract and they wouldn’t have collected this $545 in legal fees.

Crooks!

Had they been upfront with me I would have cancelled the program and been able to accumulate $600 and paid another debt.
