Stevens Transport – Consumer Complaint – April 1, 2014

Consumer Statement:

I attended Stevens Transport Driving school. I was told in class that after one year of service to the company and that year of tuition payments the balance would be forgiven. After a year, they stopped taking payments from my checks. All seemed well. Now when I want to go work for someone else 18 months after tuition payments stopped and I believed it to be paid in full by my time with the company and the payments they did deduct, I am being pursued by a very aggressive collection agency for over $7000.

Consumer Action Taken:

Stevens says they will forgive the debt if I return to work for them. Stevens says they do not know why the payment stopped when it did but because of that and because it sat for 18 months with no one trying to contact me regarding payments on it that they will go ahead an forgive it if I return to work with them within 30 days. Problem being I no longer wish to work for Stevens Transport. I have employment elsewhere.
