I’m working in Bahrain and my contract was terminated. I have a car loan through HSBC and have credit card debt of around BD2,500.

If I will wait for my last day and leave the country permanently (with one way ticket) leave the car in the airport and have not settle the debts, would the Immigration Officer know if you have those debts?

Dear Rey,

I’m not sure if debtors in Bahrain face the same oppressive penalties as those in the UAE. Before you rush to any assumptions about what may or will happen to you I would urge you to consult with a local attorney and get the facts.
