facing foreclosure and I paid Residential Support Group over $3000 for modification back in August. Keep getting the run-around. No return calls etc. I have been “served” with court papers to appear in court re:foreclosure December 8, 2016. I cannot get anyone to call me back to tell me what I need to do. I’m in a panic.
Have I been scammed and how do I proceed or pursue this company?
I don’t know if Residential Support Group has closed up shop or is just providing the worst customer service possible. The company has been not very transparent about where they are even located. One option was they were in California but the State of California does not have a company by that name registered to do business. If anyone has an address for them please post it in the comments.
If the company isn’t responding I think your choices have been made for you. You’ll need to deal with your pending foreclosure.
The two ways to deal with it at this point since you can’t get a response from the company you hired is to deal with the bank yourself and try to workout a negotiated solution or consider getting the power of the law behind you and talk to a bankruptcy attorney who is licensed in your state.
A bankruptcy attorney may suggest you file a chapter 13 bankruptcy to stop the foreclosure and stay in the house.
Now is not the time for panic, but some affirmative action to intervene.
Once you deal with the pending foreclosure situation and if Residential Support Group has still not responded to your additional requests, then I would suggest you read How to Try to Get a Refund From a Debt Relief Company and follow those steps.
You are not alone. I'm here to help. There is no need to suffer in silence. We can get through this. Tomorrow can be better than today. Don't give up.
