Consumer Complaint: A student loan from the US Department of Education was taken out in my name in 2012. I contacted the US Department of Education about the loan and after a lengthy back and fourth struggle, they took the loan off my name.Once I obtained my credit report I noticed a derogatory mark on my name. It was from the US Departments loan that was fraudulently put in my name. Since the loan was removed from my name, all marks and wrongful accusations should be removed also. It is bringing my credit score down because of its negative remarks.
