Consumer Complaint: I consolidated my XXXX XXXX student loans when I entered XXXX XXXX. At the time I was not notified that loan consolidation would or could disqualify me for XXXX loan forgiveness.
Due to hardship I placed my loans in forbearance and of course the interest piled on. Forebearance nearly doubled my student loan debt.
Several years later, a fellow XXXX told me about the XXXX forgiveness option. I submitted my papers and received a letter from Navient telling me my consolidation disqualified me for the forgiveness program.
The only time XXXX XXXX or Navient has ever contacted me was when I was late on a payment.
Not one representative bothered to inform me of available resources such as XXXX forgiveness programs or better repayment options than forebearance I have been paying my loan for years and since the loan balance never seems to budge, I will still be paying when I retire.
Dissatisfied and disgusted!
XXXX
