Consumer Complaint: I called XXXXXXXX XXXX today XX/XX/18 to pay off my remaining balance of {$3500.00}. I was told that my payment couldn’t be processed because they do not except Credit Cards nor Debit Cards. I was never told this prior to taking out a loan. The company says that they are non-profit but obviously they are profiting off of students interest rates.
The person I spoke to gave me a sob story about how they have been burned in the past with stolen Credit Cards and that is why their policy is the way it is. Then later in the conversation she said well we never excepted Credit Cards nor Debit Cards … misleading and lying to students doesn’t really seem professional.
I want to pay my student loan off, I have great credit, and a 0 % interest rate for 15 months. So what is the real reasoning for their idiotic policy? Tender is tender, why hasn’t XXXX been introduced to the 21st century?
