Consumer Statement:

Liberty Credit Law,P.C. 117 kinderkamack Rd. Suite#105 River Edge,NJ07661 scammed us out of $2,624.00. They ran a commercial in Fl about helping people with hardship loan modifications.

After speaking to them on several different occasions they assured me that being attorney’s they could do more than citimortgage could on a hardship modification loan and that we were prime candidates for the program.

I told them that I had tried to get a modification 3 times the previous year with citimortgage and been turned down every time.

And so after several conversations being told that if they couldn’t help me I would get a full refund. They stated that it was a serious situation and time was of the essence and the modification should only take 6 to 8 weeks. I had told them we didn’t have that kind of money and that I would have to not pay a mortgage payment in order to do this. And they said once they get started then everything would be in limbo during the process and the mortgage company couldn’t touch us until the issue was resolved. And after giving them a retainer of $1,750.00 they would schedule a payment plan to withdraw $874.00 one month later and another $874.00 one month after that.

Upon giving them the retainer they said they would email me within 48hrs to let me know all the paperwork they would need and I could fax it back the very next day. It took one week after giving them the money for them to email me what they needed and I was very concerned about their delayed response. The very next day I faxed the paperwork back. One more week went by and they asked for more paperwork which I sent in the very next day. Then one more week went by and they asked for more paperwork which I faxed back. Then another week went by and they called me and asked for any other paper work because they were going to have a hard time getting me a loan modification. Now a month had gone by and all they were doing is asking for paper work and nothing at all had been done on what they said would take 6 to 8 weeks.

They hadn’t called our mortgager and all they were doing was putting papers in a file for the attorney Robert Savino took look at when they felt they had everything in order for him. I told then when they called asking for more info that I wanted a refund and for them to stop. They told me I couldn’t have a refund and that I could do whatever I wanted but they wouldn’t give me money back.

They told me they called city mortgage about representing us and the power of attorney. Also that I signed a binding contract and that I didn’t have a leg to stand on and I must go through a NVP test to see if I would be approved or denied. And I could not have my money back and do what ever I needed to do.

So I called city mortgage and they said no one has ever contacted them about my loan. I aked to have the attorney Robert Savino,Esc. call us and Jennae McCloud the supervisor of client services said she would have him call me and she never did.

Five days later I called her back and she said I thought I had him call you and when I told her no he didn’t call she set me an appointment foor five days after that.

When I spoke to the attorney nothing had been done yet and when I told him Jennae had told me she contacted city mortgage and spoke to them about the power of attorney. He told me they hadn’t done that yet. He also told me that after the NPV test was done that if I was denied then I could request a refund in a fax within 48hrs.

After speaking to the attorney Jennae called back immediatly and called me a liar about the conversation I had with Robert Savino and said she never said she contacted our mortgager. I told her I wanted a full refund again and she told me too bad and do whatever I needed to do but I could not get my money back.

They then pulled another $874.50 out of my bank. Every time I called they would put me on hold for up to an hour or just hang up on me. Finially I spoke to an employee Tracey Hunter that the NVP test was denied and I immediatly faxed them and requested my money refunded on /31/11.

I went to the post office on 6/31/11 and faxed a letter overnight requesting my money refunded. The very next day 7/1/11 I called and asked for Jennae McCloud (Client Services Supervisor) and she said she had got our request and it couldn’t be processed until after the holiday July 4th. I told her I was afraid they would keep my money and she said they would not do that.

So one week later July 11th I called about our refund and she said it would take 3 to 4 weeks. When I told her she said it wouldn’t be posted until after the holiday she called me a liar once again and hung up on me.

I’ve called several times since then and told that no one knew anything and Jennae was not available.

Finally today I spoke with her and she said 6 to 8 weeks before I could get my money back. When I started to tell her what she told me previously she hung up on me. These people are scam artists they have my money, I’m behind in my mortgage and have constant late fees. And further more our mortgage company said they finially faxed a power of attorney paper but never tried to negotiate anything about a modification on my behalf.

These people avoid my calls, hang up on me, call me a liar and are very rude. I’m afraid I’ll never see my money and now when looking up complaints against Liberty Credit Law, P.C. I find a ton of complaints against them.

How can I get help. My wife and I are disabled and every dollar is very hard to make for us. I fear I will never get my house payments caught up. And now have lost $2,624.50. I see they have complaints all throughout this country and Canada also. Please advise.


I would urge you to contact the BBB and file a complaint, along with the Florida Attorney General Office and the New Jersey Attorney General office.
