“Dear Steve,
I have about 40,000 in credit card debt and silverleaf offered to settle it for $437.00 a month for 48 months. I was so frazzled that I said yes. Next thing I know they have “merged” into the Lloyd Ward group. Nothing has been done as my 770 credit score plunged to 520. I am an Epidemiologist making 52,000 and just want out of this thing. I will deal with BOA and Chase on my own. Is there any way I can break from them?
Mary”
Dear Mary,
I’m so sorry to hear you are not really happy with the folks from Silver Leaf Debt Solutions.
So let’s see what we can do moving forward from this point.
There is no requirement for you to stick with them or any company if you are unhappy. It sounds like you are not their biggest fan at the moment.

At risk by walking away is the money you may have paid in advanced fees for debt settlement services.
You can make an effort to get a refund for fees paid by following this process.
I always like to see people try to resolve the issue with the company first before simply walking away or launching complaints.
Please contact Silver Leaf and see if you can’t resolve this amicably. If you contact them but are not getting anywhere, please come back and post a comment and let me see what more I can do.
Does that sound like a fair and reasonable approach?
Please post your responses and follow-up messages to me on this in the comments section below.
