Pet Lovers Beware! SFO Warns Of Pet Scam E-mails

Officials at the San Fransicisco International Airport (SFO) have issued a scam warning about an e-mail going around offering to sell or ship pets from foreign countries to the U.S. through SFO.

E-mails are coming from the e-mail address: [email protected] (Really… a account? REALLY?) The e-mails are saying they are from airport’s “Pet Department” and/or “Pet Care and Vaccination Department” – which does not exist at SFO!

The scammer drops mention of false tracking numbers of airline vet departments in an attempt to gain credibility after saying that it works with various international airlines.

E-mails also claims “a pet is being held at the Airport and requests money to pay for vaccinations before the animal can be shipped to its final destination” – Source.

Do yourselves a favor folks, save your money. If you really want to make a difference in a pet’s life then donate to the ASPCA.
